q4-legal-linkedinfluencers

Welcome to the latest edition of Legal LinkedInfluencers. The intention of this report is to inspire all the wonderful lawyers that we know to take action on LinkedIn.

The reports to date have inspired others to get involved (some of whom now rank in the top 100 themselves), to get formal training, to reassess their approach, to ditch other less useful ways of marketing, to celebrate their colleagues, to cross-sell, to meet up in real life, and even to get married. No, that last one isn’t true. Yet.

But the community of outliers, mavericks, pioneers, campaigners and leaders who we profile here have repeatedly told me variations on this theme: I didn’t have a tribe until you brought these voices together and ranked us all.

That’s the danger of being first through the wall: everyone else thinks you’re crazy. Until they don’t.

Thank you to all of you lovely people who rank in here: I know what it took to take a chance and to keep on taking a chance on being brave and going first. You are the rocks upon which this report, this movement, is built.

The methodology

If it ain’t broke, why fix it? So nothing’s changed on the scoring front.

We find the top voices on Legal LinkedIn and we count all their likes and comments. We asked firms for their people and some provided us with some names. The rest, we researched ourselves. There’s no value judgment in it.

We add the likes to four times the comments – just like LinkedIn’s algorithm does – to give each post a power score.

We then tot up the total Power Score for the quarter (Oct 1 to Dec 31) and rank everyone.

Simple but effective.

The rules for inclusion are that each of the listed people makes the various lists if they:

  • work at a top 200 UK law firm;
  • work at an SRA-regulated UK law firm; or
  • work at a barristers chambers.

Should you be ranked in our Top 100?

The report includes a link to a calculator where you can work out whether you should be included in our Top 100.

If your power score:
is over 13,000, you’d rank in the top 10
is over 5,500, you’d rank in the top 25
is over 2,000, you’d rank in the top 100

So if you score anything over 2,000, please do drop us a line and we’ll include you in our future rankings.
