TBD Marketing shortlisted in the Women and Diversity in Law Awards

TBD shortlisted in the Women & Diversity in Law Awards

We’ve kicked off 2025 with a bang, earning a shortlist spot in the prestigious Supplier of the Year category at the Women and Diversity in Law Awards, alongside BlueSky, Courtney Legal, FTI Consulting and The Legists.

Set to take place on 18 March 2025 at the Hilton Bankside in London, the Awards celebrate outstanding women leaders and practitioners, as well as the legal teams and businesses driving significant progress towards a legal profession that better reflects the diversity of the society it serves.

Joining the cream of the nation’s legal sector, we are proud to be recognised for our commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) within the legal industry. It is great to see so many familiar individuals, firms and initiatives nominated across the respective categories, and we are already looking forward to attending an event at which we are bound to see many friends, colleagues and clients.

How did we achieve this?

Founded in 2019 by Simon Marshall, TBD Marketing Limited is a digital marketing agency comprising a predominantly female-led team of 12 senior consultants. Our objective is to deliver world-class legal marketing and business development strategies for partners, and the top 200 UK law firms.

As an agency, we champion the diversification of voices for law firms in our PR work, supporting a number of incredible female law firm founders and leaders, helping them grow their businesses and thrive in the industry.

In addition to this, we work alongside male managing partners at top 100 law firms to identify ways they can promote more female and diverse talent, ensuring that the future of business is more gender-balanced.

The LinkedIn effect

One of the ways we have helped encourage the amplification of women’s voices is through TBD’s quarterly LinkedInfluencers Report, which ranks the top 100 LinkedIn users from the UK’s top-200 law firms based on audience engagement (likes and comments).

The brainchild of Simon – founder of TBD and ally to women and marginalised racial and ethnic groups – the report also highlights the top-20 law firm leaders, independent UK firm posters and barristers.

Why is this important? By placing so many LinkedIn pioneers, including a high number of women, into the spotlight, the report inspires others to find their voice and build their own online personal brand.

What’s more, the report’s success has helped Simon to create a thriving LinkedIn community, one which celebrates female legal professionals such as Jen Shipley, senior associate at Irvin Mitchell; Emma Geale, private client solicitor at Mills & Reeve; Sophie Wardell, People Director at Higgs LLP; Emma Mack, senior associate at Clifford Chance; and many more.

Creating a platform for women’s voices

Another significant way in which we have sought to champion women’s voices in the legal profession is through special takeover editions of TBD’s weekly newsletter, Si’s Matters, which now has well over 4,500 subscribers. Exclusively guest-edited by women in our network, these editions have been dedicated to such topics as female founders, menopause awareness, violence against women and girls, Black History Month and mental wellbeing.

Working with female founders and legal professionals

From the outset, our clients have included many female founders, whom we have helped to market their fledgling businesses and grow these into successful boutique firms.

Every day, we are fortunate enough to meet some incredible women making waves in the industry, paving the way for so many young, aspiring lawyers.
We’ll keep you updated on whether we take home the trophy, but honestly, we’re just delighted to help amplify the voices of so many wonderful women. To be shortlisted is the icing on the cake.
