The latest results from TBD Marketing’s LinkedIn quarterly report (Q3 2024) have been released, highlighting the law firm leaders who are stealing a march on the competition.
The team at TBD Marketing have once again crunched the numbers to analyse the data of managing partners, senior partners and CEOs across the top 200 UK law firms and identified the best-performing individuals between 1 July to 30 September 2024.
Reclaiming the leadership crown is Moore Barlow’s Senior Partner, Trevor Sterling, who tops the rankings for the second time in the last three quarters, coinciding with his 40th anniversary in law. Paul Sams (Managing Partner at Dutton Gregory) and David Jackson (Chief Executive of Shoosmiths LLP) lead the chasing pack, ranking second and third, respectively.
Simon Marshall, founder of TBD Marketing, offered his congratulations while issuing a call to arms:
“Law firm leaders are in a uniquely powerful position to influence clients, prospects, colleagues and the wider intermediary market. While those who made the list should rightly be lauded for leading by example, the vast majority of leaders are still not showing up. Consequently, those that do engage are reaping the rewards and make no mistake, that is directly impacting their firms’ bottom line.”
Simon added:
“Only 72 Managing Partners and Senior Partners from the top 200 UK law firms have posted in the last quarter and we’re still hearing that many leaders simply don’t know what to post. Too many are missing opportunities and simply failing to capitalise – both financially and from a wider communication strategy perspective. We’ve even had a recent example of a Managing Partner who hasn’t posted at all in the last three months, not even to announce his own appointment. If leaders are struggling for ideas, I’d suggest looking at posts from our top three voices and taking inspiration from Jo Farmer (Joint Managing Partner at Lewis Silkin), who also happens to be our top female leader, and William Peake (Global Managing Partner – Harneys). They’ve both found an authentic style that works for them, their firms and most importantly their audience.”
